Banglalink has set up 4,000 new 4G sites
Banglalink, one of the country's leading digital service providers, set up 4,000 new 4G sites last year to expand its nationwide network. As a result, more and more customers can enjoy Banglalink's fastest 4G and advanced digital services.
To celebrate this special achievement, a program was organized at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in the presence of Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder and Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink Erik Aas. The Commissioner of Spectrum Division of BTRC Engineer Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Director General (Systems and Services) of BTRC Brigadier General Md. Nasim Parvez, Director General (Engineering and Operations) of BTRC Dr. Ehsanul Kabir, Director General (Spectrum) of BTRC Md. Moniruzzaman Jewel, Director General (Administration) of BTRC Md. Delwar Hossain, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer of Banglalink Taimur Rahman and other members of the management council of both the organizations were also present.
After successfully setting 4,000 sites, Banglalink's total number of sites increased by 40% to 14,500. This network expansion has contributed to Banglalink's goal of becoming a nationwide operator. Due to the maximum amount of spectrum per customer and other technical developments, Banglalink has also retained the position of the fastest 4G network in the country.
BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder said, “BTRC provides guidance to all operators and I would like to present it not only as a regulator, but as a facilitator. I am happy to see how Banglalink, one of the country's mobile operators, is moving forward with the goal of serving people from all corners of the country. Building such a large number of sites within a year reflects that Banglalink is emerging as the fastest growing digital operator. We hope they will continue to maintain this momentum and continue to provide better customer service in the future."
Banglalink Chief Executive Officer Erik Aas said, “Banglalink's rapid network expansion reflects our commitment to become a nationwide operator. With the aim of becoming a digital operator, we are trying to bring change in people's lifestyle through digital services reaching every corner of the country. We are grateful to the regulatory authorities for their cooperation in taking our initiatives forward.”
